Black Silcone
Bought a new black SUV & dealer recommended sealing the paint job w/ a simoniz silcone. Is it worth $400.00?
Dealer "highly recommended" this on dark color cars only. Said it would significantly preserve the shine & color of the car. Inexperienced detailer at best but wonder if I could do a better job on my own & for cheaper.
I wouldn't do it... I mean, if you're wanting to keep it in show quality, you're going to be applying and moving enough product on it, that its going to be gone before long anyway. I'd recommend Maguires products.
If you do go with it, have someone else do it... the dealer is pulling a big commission off of that 400. I did a LineX job on my truck when I bought it, and later found out I got taken to the cleaners. Have someone else do it.
